April 2010 newsletter
It’s been a busy winter, so it’s understandable if a spring fundraiser isn’t top of mind right now. But soon you should start thinking about your group’s next big program. Research shows about 20% of all groups say their most profitable fundraiser kicks off in April and May. The spring fundraiser is an opportunity to make one last stride toward reaching your overall goals for the year. Here are some ideas for things you can do now to get a head start on this spring’s program.
No fundraising activity should be without purpose and that purpose should be one that everyone can support. Why do you need the money? How much money do you need? When setting the fundraising goal, be specific. Involve all interested parties in setting the goal and then make that the focus of your campaign from start to finish. If the goal is meaningful to the organization, school administrators, faculty, parents and children, your chances for success are greater.
Raising money for your organization can be a tricky process. But with the right tools, clear-cut goals, and a positive attitude, you can help lead the way to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow — even if you've never organized a fundraiser before. So clear your calendar and get ready to have a successful, fun, money-making event!
